watt is a performative arts journal conceived as an open-air studio that extends from paper to various spaces.
Born in 2017 with a first paper edition, bilingual French/English, watt has since expanded into exhibition spaces or in the form of sound installations, as and when invited. More recently, watt journal has launched a podcast and invited itself into the studios of visual artists.
Through the production of interviews, sketches, images and recordings, the magazine seeks to enter into the material of an artistic work by bringing to light a working process and the making of works.
watt sees orality as a tool, as an act of enunciation that both informs and transforms the reality of practice, or even prolongs the act of creation. The act of speaking is seen as a learning process that enables elements to emerge that were not, or not yet, discernible in the practice before the act of speaking.
