about

watt is a performative arts journal conceived as an open-air studio that extends from paper to various spaces.

Through the production of interviews, sketches and images, the magazine seeks to enter into the material of an artistic work by bringing to light a working process and the making of works.

Born in 2017 with a first paper edition, bilingual French/English, watt has since expanded into exhibition spaces or in the form of sound installations, as and when invited. In the coming months, watt journal will launch its podcast and visit the studios of women visual artists.

Founded by Fanny Lacour and Charlotte Imbault, successive issues were edited by Charlotte Imbault with Myriam Lefkowitz (watt 2), then with Jean-Baptiste Veyret-Logerias (watt 3 and 4). The table of contents for the special issue was thought as an extension of the Sur les bords weekends by its two co-curators, Frédérique Ehrmann and Charlotte Imbault. The graphic design for each edition is created by Meghedi Simonian, and Agnès Imbault maintains relations with bookstores.
